ASAE Foundation’s The Classic

When Choose Chicago welcomed ASAE’s Annual Meeting & Exposition to Chicago in 2018, the destination organization tasked CR and our production partner Courtney White Event Productions to envision an evening event inspired by Chicago’s iconic blues and gospel festivals for the conference’s second-day VIP reception — The Classic. 

Drawing from Chicago’s blues and gospel history, CR rallied to concept a live experience that celebrates the energy, spirit and authenticity that binds the two musical genres together, converging their sounds and aesthetics for a night or electricity.

The execution resulted in an infectious, soul-stirring experience that included a Rolling Stones-inspired tribute to Muddy Waters, a gospel-choir performance of contemporary hits, a powerful headlining set from the iconic Mavis staples and a soul-lifting sendoff by the father of acid gospel house music, Dj Pierre.
